Innovative Solutions for Life Protection
Insulation materials come in various types, but only ROCKWOOL insulation offers unique benefits. With over 70 years of expertise in technology and knowledge, along with a dedicated service, ROCKWOOL insulation is made from natural volcanic rock that can be recycled and reused for sustainable construction. ROCKWOOL provides exceptional fire protection, excellent energy savings, and superior noise reduction. These factors make ROCKWOOL insulation a leader in energy conservation, comfort, and safety in both homes and workplaces, improving the quality of life for millions and protecting our planet for future generations.
How ROCKWOOL Insulation is Produced
The idea of producing ROCKWOOL was first conceived on the Hawaiian Islands after a volcanic eruption. Locals saw stone fibers scattered on the ground, which they thought were hair from a goddess. Today, we understand that ROCKWOOL has more to offer. We have discovered its exceptional material properties, making it suitable for various applications. This is why ROCKWOOL has continually developed its manufacturing process for over 70 years.
Initially, production processes were carried out manually, with workers measuring materials and placing them into furnaces, and handling final packaging. Today, advanced machinery is used to ensure fast and efficient production of ROCKWOOL insulation at lower costs.
The first ROCKWOOL factory was established in 1937, producing ROCKWOOL insulation used widely across Europe, America, and Asia for over 70 years. In Europe and America, where health and safety are highly prioritized, ROCKWOOL continues to be chosen for its safety and reliability.
ROCKWOOL insulation is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Singapore Green Building Product standards, ensuring that it is a high-quality, safe product recognized by leading international institutions.
ROCKWOOL Insulation is Safe and Not Asbestos
Why Do People Confuse ROCKWOOL Insulation with Asbestos?
The confusion arises from language translation. "ROCKWOOL" translates directly to "stone wool," while "asbestos" translates to "fiber mineral" in English. Because "stone wool" and "fiber mineral" are similar terms, people often mistakenly believe they are the same product.
Is ROCKWOOL Insulation Like Asbestos?
Asbestos
Asbestos fibers are mostly naturally occurring and are white. They break into tiny fibers with diameters less than 0.1 microns, which are harmful when inhaled and can become lodged in the lungs.
ROCKWOOL Insulation:
ROCKWOOL fibers are produced under controlled standards and break like chalk, with diameters of 4-5 microns. They are not harmful when inhaled and can be expelled from the body.
Therefore, ROCKWOOLinsulation is entirely different from asbestos. Not only is the fiber size larger, but the controlled manufacturing process, physical and chemical properties also make ROCKWOOL safe. It cannot break down into smaller fibers like asbestos but can break into shorter segments like chalk, making it easy to be expelled through normal breathing.
